Sharge ICEMAG 3 Power Bank Review – 2 Weeks Daily Use

Share

Been testing the Sharge ICEMAG 3 for 2 weeks now. This thing got 25W wireless MagSafe charging which is fastest in the market right now. Most other MagSafe powerbanks still stuck at 15W.

Cost me $79.90 from sharge.com official site but saw some early bird deals going for $64. For a 10,000mAh powerbank with that transparent futuristic design, not bad actually.

Using it daily with my iPhone 16 Pro Max. Love it but wireless charging still has that one problem – heat. Let me break down what’s good and what needs improvement.

Quick Take

  • Best for: iPhone users who want fastest MagSafe charging on the go
  • Love it for: Built-in cable, small size, charges fast, looks sick
  • Not so good: Wireless charging makes phone hot, drains more juice than wired
  • Skip if: You mainly use Android or prefer just wired charging
  • My rating: 4/5 stars (would be 4.5 if wireless didn’t heat up so much)

What I Love About It

Built-In Cable Is Game Changer

Ok this is the best feature hands down. Got a built-in USB-C cable that you just pull out from the bottom. Can extend it, plug into your phone, then use the MagSafe to stick it on the back of your iPhone.

So basically you’re charging via cable but powerbank stays magnetically attached to your phone. Best of both worlds – wired charging speed without phone getting too hot, plus MagSafe convenience.

The cable is braided, feels quality. Can also fold it into a loop to create a handle which is clever design.

Small and Light Enough to Pocket

220g only. That’s lighter than most 10,000mAh powerbanks. Can actually fit in pants pocket unlike those chunky laptop powerbanks.

The transparent design looks futuristic, lah. Got that Sony Cybershot camera vibe. People at gym keep asking me where I got it.

Perfect for Gym Use

This is where MagSafe really shines. When I’m at the gym, I can stick the powerbank magnetically to my phone and place it on the treadmill or bike console. Won’t fall off cause MagSafe holds it strong.

Before this I had to use pocket or put phone on floor which is annoying. Now just slap it on the console, keeps charging while I watch YouTube or check workout stats.

Actually Charges Fast

25W wireless charging is no joke. My iPhone 16 Pro Max goes from 20% to 50% in about 25-30 mins. That’s almost same as wired charging speed.

Can charge 3 devices at once – wireless MagSafe, built-in cable, plus the USB-C port. Haven’t maxed it out yet but tested 2 devices simultaneously and worked fine.

Battery Lasts 2 Days for Me

10,000mAh is enough to charge my iPhone 16 Pro Max about 1.5 times. For my usage that’s solid 2 days before need recharge the powerbank.

I charge it overnight once, then use it whole day at gym, work, commute. Next day still got juice left.

Cooling Fan Actually Works

Got a built-in cooling fan that kicks in during wireless charging. Keeps the powerbank from overheating. Can hear it slightly when you’re in quiet room but not super loud.

Some reviews complain about fan noise but honestly I barely notice it unless I’m trying to sleep with it charging next to me. During day time? Can’t hear it.

What Needs Improvement

Wireless Charging Gets Phone Hot

This is the big one. When I use wireless MagSafe charging, my iPhone 16 Pro Max gets noticeably warmer. Not dangerously hot but you feel it.

The heat means battery drains faster too. Like the phone is working harder to charge wirelessly. Physics problem lah – wireless charging is only about 70-80% efficient, rest becomes heat.

Wireless vs Wired Charging – Real Difference

After 2 weeks testing both, here’s what I found:

FactorWireless MagSafeWired (Built-in Cable)
Charging Speed20-50% in ~30 mins20-50% in ~20 mins
Phone HeatGets noticeably warmStays cool
Efficiency~70-75% (lots of wasted energy)~95% (almost all goes to phone)
Powerbank Charges~1.2 full charges~1.5 full charges
Battery HealthHeat not great long-termBetter for battery life
ConvenienceJust slap it on, doneNeed plug in cable
Can Use Phone Easily?Bit bulky but okCable can get in the way
Best ForQuick top-ups, gym useFull charging sessions

So basically wireless is convenient but your phone works harder. More energy becomes heat instead of battery charge. That’s why wired is still better for main charging sessions.

I use wireless when I’m moving around and need convenience. Use wired when I’m sitting down and want efficient charging.

That’s why I still prefer using the built-in cable for actual charging. Then just use MagSafe to keep it attached to phone. Get wired charging speed without the heat issue.

If you must use wireless, better not use phone heavily while charging. The combo of wireless charging heat + phone processing heat = not great for battery health long term.

Wireless Drains More Powerbank Juice

Wireless charging is less efficient. Means you get less charges out of the 10,000mAh capacity.

When I use wired cable, can get about 1.5 full charges for my iPhone. When I use wireless only, drops to maybe 1.2 charges. That efficiency loss adds up.

RGB Lights Cant Turn Off

The powerbank has RGB lights that glow when charging. Looks cool but cant turn them. At night if you’re charging next to bed, those lights can be annoying.

Would be nice if got a button to disable RGB. Not dealbreaker but small oversight.

Fan Noise at Night

Like I said, fan noise is fine during day. But if you charge overnight next to your bed? Can hear that low hum. Not super loud but once you notice it, hard to unhear.

My workaround is just charge it in another room before sleep. Or use wired charging which doesn’t trigger the fan as much.

How It Compares to Other MagSafe Powerbanks

Here’s how ICEMAG 3 stacks up against competition:

Why I Went With ICEMAG 3

Main reason is the 25W wireless charging. No other MagSafe powerbank does 25W right now. Everyone else stuck at 15W.

Plus the built-in cable is super convenient. Anker Zolo is cheaper at $49 but you gotta bring your own cables. For me the extra $30 worth it for that convenience.

Anker Is Good Budget Option

If you don’t need 25W and ok with bringing your own cable, Anker Zolo at $49 is solid choice. Still get 15W wireless which is decent for most people.

But if you want fastest wireless charging available, ICEMAG 3 is the only option in 2025.

Design – That Futuristic Look

Gotta talk about the design cause that’s what makes this stand out.

Transparent casing so you can see the internal components. RGB lights that glow when charging. The whole thing looks like something from cyberpunk movie.

Inspired by Sony Cybershot cameras from early 2000s. That retro-futuristic aesthetic really works. At $80 you’re paying partly for looks but honestly it’s cool enough that I don’t mind.

Built-in Kickstand

Got a foldable kickstand on the back. Can prop up your phone for watching videos or FaceTime while charging wirelessly.

Kickstand is sturdy, holds the phone at good angle. I use it when working from cafes to keep my phone visible for notifications.

Real World Use – My 2 Weeks Experience

Daily Carry

I bring this everyday now. Small and light enough that it doesn’t add much weight to my bag. Can fit in pants pocket if needed tho I usually keep it in backpack.

Charge it once every 2 days. That’s with moderate use – topping up my iPhone during commute, at gym, when working from cafes.

Gym Sessions

This is where it really shines for me. I do workouts 4-5 times a week, usually 1.5 hours per session. Always got phone with me for music, workout tracking, watching stuff between sets.

Before ICEMAG 3, I’d put phone in pocket with powerbank which is bulky. Or place it on floor which is annoying.

Now I just MagSafe it to the console of treadmill or bike. Stays attached even when machine is moving. Can see my phone screen clearly, keeps charging the whole time.

Using Wired vs Wireless

After 2 weeks I settled into a pattern:

Wired (built-in cable): When I need fast charging and don’t want phone to heat up. Usually when I’m just sitting at desk or cafe. Pull out the cable, plug it in, MagSafe it to back of phone so it stays attached.

Wireless MagSafe: When I’m moving around and convenience matters more than efficiency. At gym, walking around, when I just need top-up not full charge.

This combo works best. Don’t use wireless for long charging sessions cause of the heat and efficiency issues.

Singapore Flight Rules – Can You Bring This?

Quick check: 10,000mAh powerbank is well under the 100Wh CAAS limit. You’re good to bring it on flights from Changi.

Just remember: Must be in carry-on bag, not checked luggage. And since April 2025, SIA and Scoot banned using powerbanks during flight. So bring it but can’t charge mid-flight.

Tips If You Buy This

  1. Use wired for main charging. Save wireless for convenience situations. Your phone battery will thank you.
  2. Don’t use phone heavily during wireless charging. That combo heat is not great.
  3. Charge the powerbank away from bedroom at night. Fan noise and RGB lights can be annoying when trying to sleep.
  4. The kickstand is actually useful. Use it when watching videos or video calls.
  5. Buy from official site. Sharge.com has warranty and sometimes early bird discounts.

Who Should Buy This?

Get It If:

  • You got iPhone 12 or newer (MagSafe compatible)
  • You want fastest wireless MagSafe charging available
  • You value convenience of built-in cable
  • You like that futuristic transparent design
  • You need compact powerbank for gym or daily carry

Skip It If:

  • You use Android (wireless won’t be 25W, just standard Qi)
  • You’re ok with 15W wireless charging (save $30-40 with other brands)
  • You only charge via wired (built-in cable feature wasted)
  • You’re sensitive to fan noise at night
  • You prefer plain minimal design

Better Alternatives?

  • Anker Zolo ($49): If you want cheap MagSafe with 15W wireless
  • Baseus Magnetic ($35-50): Budget option, basic 15W wireless
  • Sharge ICEMAG 2 ($60): Last gen, 15W wireless but cheaper

But if you specifically want 25W Qi2 wireless charging with built-in cable? ICEMAG 3 is literally only option right now.

My Final Take After 2 Weeks

Look I’m a tech guy. Love trying new gadgets. This ICEMAG 3 is one of the better MagSafe powerbanks I’ve used.

The 25W wireless is genuinely fast – almost matches wired charging speed. The built-in cable means I don’t need dig around for cables. Small enough to carry everyday without feeling it.

That futuristic design? Looks sick. People notice it. RGB lights and transparent casing really stand out.

But that wireless charging heat issue is real. Physics problem lah – wireless will always generate more heat than wired. That’s why I mainly use the built-in cable for actual charging, then MagSafe just to keep it attached.

At $80 it’s not cheap. You’re paying premium for that 25W Qi2 speed and the design. But if you want fastest MagSafe powerbank in 2025, this is it.

Would I Buy It Again?

Yeah probably. The built-in cable convenience alone worth it for me. Plus that 25W wireless is nice to have even if I don’t use it all the time.

Just gonna keep using it mostly with wired cable to avoid the heat issue. And charge it away from bedroom cause those RGB lights at night quite bright, lah.

Final Verdict

Solid 4/5 stars. Would be 4.5 if wireless charging didn’t make phone so hot. But that’s a wireless charging problem in general, not specific to this powerbank.

For fellow Singaporeans: This is great daily carry powerbank. Small, fast, looks cool. Just remember to use wired when possible to preserve your iPhone battery health.

Worth the $80 if you value convenience and want fastest wireless option. If you’re budget conscious, get Anker Zolo and save $30.

Stay charged out there.
